On August 10, 2023, PHDEC hosted a webinar on Good Agricultural Practices for High Yield of Ginger!
Ever wondered how to achieve a high yield of ginger right here in Pakistan? Well, the webinar had all the answers for you! The main focus was on finding alternatives to imports and boosting our local economy through ginger cultivation. Mr. Amir Latif, Scientific Officer from the Vegetable Research Institute at Ayub Agriculture Research Institute Faisalabad, took the virtual stage and shared invaluable insights. As an added bonus, he even unveiled a comprehensive cost-benefit analysis for cultivating ginger on a one-acre farm. Attendees were also treated to groundbreaking news from the Vegetable Research Institute, AARI, Faisalabad. They proudly introduced the very first ginger variety of 2023, “AARI GINGER 2023,” which was officially registered by the Punjab Seed Council in March this year.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where participants fired away with their burning questions and received expert advice right from the source.
