Pakistan Horticulture Development & Export Company hosted a ground-breaking workshop on November 02, 2023 in Umarkot, Sindh, aimed at revolutionizing the Chili industry and enhancing Pakistan’s standing as a major producer and exporter of red Chilies worldwide.
Sindh Province, particularly the remarkable Kunri district has cemented its position as one of Asia’s primary hubs for red Chili production. However, the challenge of aflatoxin contamination has been a significant roadblock on the path to global market success. To address this crucial issue, PHDEC organized this workshop where experts from the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and Dr. Mubarak shared invaluable insights on reducing aflatoxins in red Chilies.

We were honored to have Mr. Ghulam Qadir, Trade and Investment Officer, join us via Zoom to shed light on the Chinese market and the recent protocol signed between Pakistan and China on Chilies.
